Rahab Ministry Don River Walk

Join us at 9:30am on Saturday, September 24 for Rahab Ministry’s Don River Walk! Starting at 95 Jonesville Crescent, we will walk 6K through the gorgeous East Don trail and its surrounding area. Take part in a silent auction, get exclusive merch, and support Rahab Ministry while having delicious food and drink. 

Help us reach our goal of raising $30,000 that will go toward funding our vital programs like the Rahab Residence, Massage Parlour Outreach, and Sex Trade Exit Assistance. Other services that you will help include aid with buying groceries, transportation funds, English classes, job search assistance, skills training, immigration support and more. 

Walk as an individual, participate in a team by inviting friends and family to join, or show your support by donating to a walker!

We need your help now more than ever. It is a difficult time, especially for many of the women we serve. Help us make even more of an impact.

Help with registering:

There are many ways you can support the walkathon! Take a look at some of the options below. Please note if you raise less than $100 in donations, you will be charged a registration fee of $50 on the day of the walkathon.

Join a team

If you know someone organizing a team or would like to join a team to work together to raise funds, choose this option. Browse the Teams tab for existing teams. (Note: If you are in a team, you will still have an individual page and can set your own personal fundraising goal.)

  1. From the main Rahab Walkathon page, click Join a Team
  2. Select which team you would like to join
  3. You will be directed to create a personal fundraising page
    • (If you are not already signed in, you will have to sign into your Canada Helps account. If you have not used Canada Helps in the past you will have to create an account; don’t worry, it’s easy!)
    • Name your personal fundraising page; this can be your name or something short to get people’s attention to donate!
    • Set your personal goal amount
    • Upload your featured image (try a photo of yourself, a relevant image, or use the one provided)
    • Write your fundraising story. Share what Rahab is to you and why you are walking to inspire people to donate.
  4. That’s it!
  5. After you create your personal fundraising page, you can view or edit all your information by going onto your page (which can be found under the Participants tab) and clicking the Edit button on the top right. On this page you can:
    • Share the link to get others to donate or learn more about Rahab!
    • Edit any information (like updating your fundraising story or changing your goal amount)
    • Add images or videos to your page
    • View all donation information
  6. To share or view your team’s page, look under the Teams tab.

Create a Team 

Create your own team if you want to be a Team Leader and recruit friends, family, and coworkers to raise funds. (Note: If you are in a team, you will still have an individual page and can set your own personal fundraising goal.)

  1. From the main Rahab Walkathon page, click Create a Team.
  2. You will be directed to create a personal fundraising page
    1. (If you are not already signed in, you will have to sign into your Canada Helps account. If you have not used Canada Helps in the past you will have to create an account; don’t worry, it’s easy!)
    2. Name your personal fundraising page; this can be your name or something short to get people’s attention to donate!
    3. Set your personal goal amount.
    4. Upload your featured image. (Try a photo of yourself, a relevant image, or use the one provided.)
    5. Write your fundraising story. Share what Rahab is to you and why you are walking to inspire people to donate. 
  3. Next, you will create your team page.
    1. Name your team. 
    2. Enter your team’s goal amount.
    3. Add an image for your team page. (Try a photo of the people on your team, a relevant image, or use the one provided.)
    4. Write your team’s fundraising story. Share why your team is walking and inspire others to donate. 
  4. Now that you have created your team’s page, you can invite others to join and manage your team by going onto your page and clicking the Edit button at the top right. On this page you can:
    1. Share the link to your team’s page with others to get them to join, donate, or learn more about Rahab!
    2. Edit details about the team
    3. Add images or videos
    4. Under the Team Members tab you can view everyone on your team and easily invite others to join!

Join as an Individual 

If you work best alone, join as an individual and ask friends and family for donations!

  1. From the main Rahab Walkathon page, click Join as an Individual
  2. You will be directed to create your personal fundraising page
    1. (If you are not already signed in, you will have to sign into your Canada Helps account. If you have not used Canada Helps in the past you will have to create an account; don’t worry, it’s easy!)
    2. Name your personal fundraising page; this can be your name or something short to get people’s attention to donate!
    3. Set your personal goal amount.
    4. Upload your featured image. (Try a photo of yourself, a relevant image, or use the one provided.)
    5. Write your fundraising story. Share what Rahab is to you and why you are walking to inspire people to donate. 
  3. That’s it!
  4. After you create your personal fundraising page you can view or edit all your information by going onto your page and clicking the Edit button on the top right. On this page you can:
    1. Share the link to get others to donate or learn more about Rahab!

    4. View all donation information

Donate

If you would like to support a team, individual or Rahab, donate! Even if you are not able to attend the walkathon your support will make a difference. 

  1. From the main Rahab Walkathon page or a Team or Participant page, click the Donate Now button at the top right of the page
  2. Choose your donation amount
  3. If you would like your donation to be counted toward the fundraising results of a specific Team or Participant, select them from the drop down menu. If you would just like to donate to the fundraiser, skip this step.
  4. Add a message of support
  5. From the drop down menu, choose what information you would information you would like to be publicly shown
  6. Click the Continue with my Donation button
  7. Fill out the Donor and Tax Receipt Information fields 
  8. Fill out the Payment Information
  9. That’s it! Thank you for your support!
